One of the most famous surviving apocalyptic works is translated by R. H. Charles in its entirety. The Book of Enoch, which is frequently referred to as "the lost book" of the Bible, appears to have been written in Palestine by several different authors in the first and second centuries B.C. For hundreds of years, the early church fathers accepted it, but the council of Laodicea rejected it in A.D. 364.It is still a writing from the Apocalypse, a passionate testimony to hope and the victory of good over evil at the dawn of a new world. It is an important document to the history of Christianity because it contains ideas about the first sin, fallen angels, demonology, the resurrection, and the last judgment.
