The story of Axel Munthe

This biography of Axel Munthe, co- written by the writer's nephew Gustaf and Gudrun von Uexküll, was published in English in 1953 and now is translated into Italian for the first time, enriched by a preface by Katriona Munthe, and embellished with a rich insert color photos of Villa San Michele today, by Umberto D'Aniello. This biography also addresses two mysteries still partly unsolved today: the complex personality of the Writer endowed with a "power" which manifested itself in an inexplicable capacity for healing and care and the success of the famous novel The Story of San Michele whose notoriety has passed through and is still widespread throughout the world today. A complex and beautiful book just as complex and beautiful was the life of this character who wanted to create what is still today one of the most visited and admired places in the world: Villa San Michele in Anacapri.
